Premier League side Everton are lining up a move to sign Birmingham City forward Che Adams in the summer, according to reports from Football Insider.

The 22-year-old has become one of the most in-demand players in the country, after a hugely impressive season in the second tier this term.

The attacker has scored 22 goals in 42 appearances for Garry Monk's men this campaign and was shortlisted for the EFL Championship Player of the Year award only to be pipped by Norwich's Teemu Pukki.

Due to their financial problems off the pitch, Birmingham have recently been hit with a nine-point deduction and are resigned to losing their star-man in the summer, with Manchester United and Arsenal already declaring an interest in the player.

But reports have now emerged claming that Marco Silva's Everton are lining up a bid to sign Adams in the summer, with head of recruitment Marcel Brands seeing him as a star in the making.

It remains to be seen what kind of offer Everton will put in for Adams, but Birmingham did reject a bid in the region of £12million from Burnley for his services in January.

After a 1-0 home win over Leeds United at the weekend, Blues occupy 17th spot in the Sky Bet Championship table and sit five points clear of the drop-zone.

The Verdict

This comes as no surprise to me, and we will see plenty of teams declare an interest in Adams between now and the end of the season.

He is more than capable of making the step up to the Premier League and could be the goalscorer that the Toffees need.

It would be a good move for the player, and he is likely to go for big bucks.
