Premier League duo Everton and Aston Villa are eyeing a move Leeds United’s highly-rated midfielder Alex Mowatt, claims the Mirror.
The 19-year-old has proved to be a revelation for the Yorkshire club this campaign, and his impressive form has caught the attention of teams from the top-flight.
The promising youngster has been at the Championship outfit his whole career, and he has accumulated over 40 appearances for Neil Redfearn’s side.
The Mirror says that Villa are targeting Mowatt as a replacement for Fabian Delph who looks set to depart Villa Park in the near future.
Potentially, a deal could be struck in January with the player being loaned back to the Elland Road side for the remaining stages of the season.
Leeds would certainly demand a sizeable fee for their young prodigy, and it is uncertain whether the club would let one of their most prized assets leave.
Meanwhile, Neil Redfearn won his first game as permanent manager of the Whites on Saturday, after comfortably beating Blackpool 3-1 at Elland Road, courtesy of goals from Liam Cooper, Souleymane Doukara and Mirco Antenucci.
