Having recently secured the services of Tom Eaves and Matt Ingram for the upcoming campaign, Hull City manager Grant McCann has now bolstered his squad by signing Everton winger Josh Bowler.

Confirmed by the club's website, the winger has joined the Tigers on a season-long loan from the Toffees after a switch was sanctioned by Marco Silva.

Although Bowler has yet to make a single appearance for Everton since joining the club two years ago, he does have previous experience of playing in the Championship during his time at Queens Park Rangers having made his senior debut for the club in a 4-0 defeat to Norwich City in May 2017.

Used exclusively by Toffees in their under-23 set-up, the winger helped his side win the Premier League 2 title earlier this year by scoring three goals in 16 appearances.

Speaking about putting pen-to-paper at the KCOM Stadium, Bowler said: "I'm very excited to be here because it's a massive club.

"As soon as I heard of Hull's interest, I wanted to get the move through.

"It's taken a bit of time but I'm just thankful to be here now and raring to go ahead of the forthcoming season."

Bowler is expected to make his Tigers bow when the club head to the One Call Stadium on Saturday to face Mansfield Town.

The Verdict

When you consider that Bowler has been linked with a move to Derby County, Middlesbrough and Birmingham City this summer (via TEAMtalk), the fact that Hull have managed to convince him to join is a major coup for McCann.

Blessed with a wide array of skills, the winger could become an instant fan favourite if he can hit the ground running in the Championship for his new side.

Yet with Jarrod Bowen and Kamil Grosicki expected to offer stiff competition in the wide areas for Bowler, it is paramount that he uses the upcoming pre-season friendlies to showcase his ability a failure to do so could see him have to settle for a place on the substitutes bench against Swansea City on August 3rd.
