Everton are tracking Blackburn Rovers forward Adam Armstrong ahead of a potential summer move  according to Football Insider.

Armstrong is likely to be a player in high demand this summer, after having an excellent individual campaign for Blackburn under Tony Mowbray.

The 24-year-old has scored 19 goals in 34 Championship appearances this season, and is currently the third-highest scorer in the league alongside Lucas Joao.

Armstrong has scored 20 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions this term, and has previously been linked with the likes of Newcastle United and West Ham.

But according to Football Insider, Everton could be set to join the race to land the striker, having watched him in action against AFC Bournemouth on Easter Monday.

Tony Mowbray has previously admitted that he would not stand in Armstrong's away in regards to an Ewood Park exit, but clubs are likely to have to pay around £25million.

The Verdict

This would be a top signing for Everton.

Josh King has failed to set the world alight at Goodison Park and there are doubts over whether he will be given a new deal or not going forward.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has obviously been in great form for the Toffees, too, but I think genuine competition is needed as Everton look to keep on improving under Carlo Ancelotti.

Armstrong is bound to attract plenty of interest heading into the summer, but it doesn't seem as if their interest is that serious at the moment.
