Premier League giants Everton have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Norwich City midfielder James Maddison, according to a report by Talksport.

The youngster, who was one of the standout performers across the entire Championship last term, is wanted by a whole host of top flight clubs, but it would appear the it is the Toffees who lead the chase to capture one of the hottest talents outside of the Premier League.

Maddison, who was injured on the final day of last season to put a damp end on a tremendous season, is valued at around £25m by the Canaries, who will be keen to ensure they secure a hefty fee for their star man.

The former Coventry City man tore up the second tier last term with 15 goals, while being named player of the year at Carrow Road to add further value to his stock.

Norwich had a poor season on the whole under new manager Daniel Farke, and were hopeful of keeping Maddison for next season as they seek to mount a playoff run. However, the Premier League riches appear to already be calling for both the club and player, and a move is looking move inevitable by the day.

Norwich fans, what do you make of this? How much would you sell for? Let us know in the comments!
