Premier League side Everton are eyeing up a potential move for Fulham starlet Moussa Dembele, according to Shoot.
The French striker, who has been subject to a great deal of transfer speculation throughout the summer, is now the target for an Everton side looking to claw their way up the Premier League table.
However, Fulham are preparing to offer the 19-year-old striker a new improved deal in a desperate attempt to ward of interest from the Premier League.
Manager Kit Symons has previously spoken about the importance of the youngster in his Championship squad, but now his resolve is being tested by the lure of Premier League football.
The youngster has scored twice in eight games so far this season whilst becoming a regular fixture in a Fulham side striving to find a top-six spot in the league table.
The London side already know what it’s like to lose a star player to a Premier League side, due to the sale of Patrick Roberts to Manchester City for a fee that could rise to £11m. But Kit Symons believes that he has a greater chance of keeping hold of Dembele, as he has more to offer the youngster at Fulham.
Speaking to Get West London, the manager said: “With Pat, he was out of contract and said he wasn’t going to sign no matter what.
“You can’t force Moussa to sign, but we hope there will be a different outcome.
“It’s a different kettle of fish with Moussa.
“He’s at a level when he’s starting in the team on merit. I couldn’t offer that to Pat. I could have said to Pat ‘one day you’ll be a first-team starter’ but I couldn’t say when that was going to be. Moussa’s taking his opportunity.”
A new contract offer is reportedly on the table for the youngster, but whether he will put pen-to-paper once againat Fulham remains to be seen.
The lure of playing in the top-flight will surely be tempting for the youngster, but Kit Symons and Fulham fans alike will be waiting anxiously to see where the youngster’s loyalties lie.
