Coventry City's Tom Bayliss has already been the subject of Championship interest ahead of the summer but he now could be on his way to Merseyside, according to TEAMtalk.

Bayliss has impressed the Sky Blues in League One this season as he helped them towards an 8th-placed finish, and he has now reportedly caught the eye of Liverpool and Everton.

The 20-year-old is a Coventry academy product and has been a key figure at the club since making his debut in November 2017.

He operates largely in centre-midfield, but is also able to play out wide, and registered 3 goals and 3 assists in his 41 appearances this campaign.

The English Under-19 international has also been the subject of interest from the likes of Newcastle, Brighton and Middlesbrough with the summer approaching. The report adds that these clubs have all asked to be informed on Bayliss' situation.

His £3 million release clause means it is highly likely the midfielder will move on this summer, with Everton and Liverpool seeming logical destinations given their attention to youth.

The Verdict

Bayliss is an exciting prospect and now seems destined for a big club.

It is important he makes the right move for his development, as he would benefit from still playing first-team football after two impressive seasons at Coventry.

But he is a tall midfielder who can drive at defenders, so his game would be well-suited to the Premier League and he should get game time.
