Premier League side Everton are one of a number of a clubs hoping to sign Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson, according to a report on Sky Sports.

The Boro defender has once again been one of the most impressive performers for Tony Pulis's men this season, and after a summer last year of transfer rumours swirling about around his future, it looks like Gibson and Boro are set for a repeat.

The report claims that Everton are to join Leicester in chasing Gisbon, with a fee of around £20m the figure being banded about at the moment.

Despite only signing a new five-year deal in the summer, Gibson might well be keen to make the move back the top flight if he cannot help Boro get there via the playoffs, having played every single minute of the campaign for the Riverside club this season.

Last summer Gibson was touted as a potential buy for Manchester City, but Boro priced him out of a move to the Etihad and he stuck by his hometown club, much to the delight of supporters and his manager at the time, Garry Monk.

Both Everton and Leicester are keen on strengthening their defensive options this summer with both having ageing players in there at the moment, and they will see Gibson as an ideal long term solution.

Boro fans, what do you think? Would you sell Gibson? Let us know in the comments!
