Following the parting of ways with Simon Grayson, Blackpool’s managerial search appears to be stalling as they shift from multiple targets with League One experience.

The Tangerines had been in a woeful run of form leading up to February and it ultimately led to the sacking of Simon Grayson after just seven months in charge. This run in the league saw them drop well into the bottom half after it appeared that they could have mounted a play-off push in the first half of the season.

Since then, they have been basing their search around bringing in another manager with experience in the League, and in particular, getting out of the league to the Championship.

One of the major candidates that was in-line for the club to pursue was Oxford United boss Karl Robinson, as well as Swindon Town manager Richie Wellens. However, official approaches for the pair have been rejected.

Matt Scrafton of the Blackpool Gazette has revealed that the club had also turned their attention to the departed Stoke City manager and former Luton Town boss Nathan Jones, but to no avail, along with other linked names not really bearing fruit as of yet.

It has left the Tangerines in quite a sticky patch as they search for Grayson’s successor as no real candidates stand out for an approach at the moment.
