“Nottingham Forest is back where it belongs after 23 long years. We are back in the @premierleague!” Marinakis wrote on Instagram.
“I am extremely proud of everyone in the Club for this historic achievement. I am grateful for the fantastic support from our fans who have proven that we are a solid #NFFC family.”
“I would personally like to congratulate the coach Steve Cooper and his team who have done a fantastic job since they took over, the management, Dane, Koulis and my son @mil7iadis who as of this year has played a significant role in the turnaround of the Club.”
Nottingham Forest quiz: Does the City Ground have a bigger or smaller capacity than these 20 stadiums?
“As of today we are aiming to rewrite history and win more trophies! This is only the beginning REDS. #Believe #WeKeepOnDreaming @officialnffc.”
Nottingham Forest now look forward to life in the top-flight for the first time this century.
The club will learn their first opponents next season on the 16th June when the Premier League fixture list is due to be announced.
Nottingham Forest’s owner is clearly chuffed after the club achieved promotion yesterday, and why wouldn’t he be?
After 23 years of being unable to do so, under his ownership, the club have achieved promotion back to the top table in English football.
Marinakis was right to single out Steve Cooper for praise in his post, too.
The 42-year-old has done a remarkable job at the City Ground since taking over this season, especially when you consider that the club were thinking more about staying up in the Championship when he took over, as opposed to being promoted from it.
All in all, a fantastic weekend and season for everybody associated with Nottingham Forest.
