European side targeting move for Norwich City ace

Serie A side Roma are expected to come back in with a renewed attempt to sign Norwich City defender Max Aarons in the summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Aarons is a player that is attracting a lot of potential transfer interest heading into the summer, with the Canaries facing a tough challenge of trying to keep hold of him despite their promotion. The right-back is being valued at around £30 million by the Canaries. The club are thought to be willing to sell key players if they make it clear they want to move on.

Roma came in with an offer for Aarons in the January transfer window which was turned down by the Canaries. That was when they were right in the thick of the promotion battle and they were not prepared to allow one of their most important players to leave Carrow Road. According to the Daily Mail, the Italian side will make a renewed effort to sign him this summer.

Everton are also being heavily linked with a potential move for Aarons, and it is thought that the defender is favouring a move to Goodison Park. However, according to the Daily Mail, the Toffees have also now been offered the chance to sign Atletico Madrid and England right-back Kieran Trippier.

The verdict

It seems like it is going to be very difficult for Norwich to keep hold of Aarons. Daniel Farke will likely be wanting to do all he can to convince him to remain with the Canaries and spend one more campaign developing with them in the top-flight. There is a case that could be best for his long-term development.

However, Roma is a club that could potentially offer him European football and he will have also seen the success other young English players have had recently moving abroad. Therefore, the Serie A side might be an option worth considering, despite them having been unsuccessful in their attempts to sign him last winter.

Everton might now be turning their attentions towards Trippier, who has more experience and is proven at the highest level. However, Aarons would represent the long-term better option for them you feel, so it will be interesting to see what they decide to do.
