Anderlecht are looking to beat Stoke City and AFC Bournemouth to the signing of Liam Delap, according to Football Insider.

The Manchester City youngster has been heavily linked with a loan move away from the Etihad this summer, as he looks to continue his development.

Delap, who has made three senior appearances for City, scored a whopping 24 goals in 20 Premier League 2 outings last term.

Stoke City and AFC Bournemouth are among those interested in taking the striker on loan for the season, as both sides look to escape the Championship.

But according to Football Insider, Anderlecht, who are managed by City legend Vincent Company, are now looking to beat the Championship duo to the signing of the 18-year-old.

Delap recently put pen to paper on a new contract extension at the Etihad, which subsequently keeps him at the club until 2026.

Stoke and Bournemouth have both started the season strongly, with both sides yielding seven points from their first three games and sitting inside the play-off places.

The Verdict

You have to fear for Stoke and Bournemouth's chances of landing Delap here.

Kompany is a City legend and there is every chance of him using his connections to land Delap and get City to do him a favour here.

The Belgian league looks like a decent standard and it would obviously give Delap a different sense of culture and lifestyle this term.

That could be beneficial for him going forward as he looks to mature as a player and as a person.
