Newcastle United outcast Henri Saivet is being targeted by Ligue 1 side Saint Etienne, according to the Chronicle.
Saivet has widely been tipped for a transfer away from the club this summer, having made only four appearances for United, since joining in last season’s January transfer window.
Newcastle paid around £5 million for the midfield, who joined the ever-growing of French talent that has seriously struggled to make an impact at St James’ Park.
And interested in taking Saivet off of Newcastle’s books for at least the rest of the season is Saint Etienne, but only if they can have him without paying all of his wages.
Les Verts lost their first game of the new French season to Bordeaux 3-2, and will hope Saivet can help them climb the Ligue 1 table.
