Roma have approached Newcastle United to take their Dutch midfielder Georgino Wijnaldum on loan for the 2016/2017 campaign, according to Sky Sports Italia via Talksport.
The 25-year-old has expressed his desire to leave St James Park after Newcastle United were relegated from the Premier League in May.
However, the Toon are doing their utmost to keep the Dutchman at the club by slapping on a £30 million price tag to lure away interested parties.
The midfielder impressed during his first year in English football after scoring 11 goals in 38 appearances last season that has attracted a strong amount of interest from several clubs.
Newcastle are looking for a significant profit from the midfielder, but the deal could work in favour for the North East club if they bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
It is expected that Wjnaldum would jump at the chance of playing for the Italian giants, who would offer Champions League football.
