Turkish side Galatasaray are reportedly interested in signing Swansea City forward Wilfried Bony in January, according to reports from Wales Online via Turkish media outlet Yeni Safak.

The 29-year old has made just three appearances for the Swans this season, after only just returning to first-team action following a nine month spell out with cruciate ligament injury.

With the January transfer window looming, reports have now surfaced that Galatasaray are interested in signing the Ivorian forward - on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Bony is likely to be one of the highest earners at the Liberty Stadium and is understood to be on wages of around £100,000 a week, so any move away from South Wales is likely to be welcomed by manager Graham Potter, as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the second half of the season.

The Swans currently sit 12th in the Sky Bet Championship table, seven points off the division's playoff places after an impressive 3-2 away win at Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

The Verdict

It's fair to say that Bony's return to Swansea hasn't gone as he would have imagined over the last two years.

He has scored just 3 goals in 22 games since his return to the Welsh club, and it wouldn't be surprising if he were to leave in January.

Potter should look to use the money to land another attacking player to his side.
