AC Milan have reportedly submitted an enquiry over the availability of Adolfo Gaich according to Corriere dello Sport.

The report claims that the Italian giants see Gaich as a long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, which is certainly sizeable shoes to fill for any player.

Gaich has been a long-term transfer target for Championship promotion hopefuls Leeds United and West Brom in the past, and it'll be interesting to see whether either club will further their interest now that other clubs are interested.

The 21-year-old has been in impressive form this season, having scored five goals in 13 appearances for San Lorenzo this term.

Leeds are currently sat top of the Championship table, and will be hoping they can pull further clear of the promotion-chasing pack in the second tier as they head into the final seven matches of this year's league campaign.

Whilst Slaven Bilic's West Brom side have dropped to second in the Championship standings in recent weeks after a poor restart to the season.

The Baggies haven't scored in their last four league matches, which will make for concerning reading for the club's supporters heading into a season-defining stage of the campaign.

The Verdict:

I think they'll both step up their interest now.

AC Milan are a reputable club that are capable of attracting some real talent to their team still, and I think they'll surely be ahead of both West Brom and Leeds in the race to sign Gaich now.

He's a player that has impressed me this season, and he's clearly got something about him if he's attracting interest from the likes of AC Milan.

But if both Leeds and West Brom are to win promotion into the Premier League this season, then you would imagine that Gaich could be tempted by the prospect of playing his football in the top-flight next term.
