Stoke City's Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting could be on the move to PSG this summer in a surprise transfer deal according to the Sun today.

The French and European giants will be once again looking to dominate domestically and go for the Champions League this season.

Stoke, meanwhile, are aiming to try and win the Championship and get back into the Premier League at the first attempt.

Choupo-Moting may well play no real part in that, though, with the Ligue 1 side apparently identifying him as a replacement for Goncalo Guedes who is moving to Valencia.

The forward is on big wages at Stoke at the moment owing to their seasons in the Premier League and they'd surely be happy to get that sum off of their books.

It's still a surprising switch, though, given the nature of PSG's usual transfer policy of going for the biggest of names.

The Verdict

This is a shock move if it happens.

Choupo-Moting is a good player with plenty to offer the Potters but at the same time the financial easing his move would bring surely outweighs that.

The club do not need him this season by the looks of things in all honesty and so it might just be a matter of time until this goes through.
