Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce are keen to strike a permanent deal to sign Swansea City winger Andre Ayew, according to reports from Turkish media outlet Fanatik via Sport Witness.

The 29-year old has endured an impressive spell over in Turkey since his loan move in the summer, just one year after re-signing for the Swans for a reported fee of £18million from West Ham United.

The Ghanian wide-man quickly fell out of favour under Graham Potter following the Swans' relegation from the Premier League last term, and penned a season-long loan move to the Turkish side in July.

The winger has since made an impressive impact at the Turkish champions, scoring five goals and producing a number of assists for the club in a total of 28 appearances.

Reports recently emerged claiming that the Swans will look to sell Ayew for good in the summer, however news has now surfaced claiming that Fenerbahce are keen to keep hold of the pacey winger, despite wanting to offload a host of players in the summer.

Ayew failed to make an impact at the Liberty Stadium after re-signing last season, failing to find the back of the net for the club in a total of 12 appearances.

Swansea currently sit 15th in the Sky Bet Championship table, after winning just one of their last five league games.

The Verdict

This should be welcoming news for Swansea fans, and the club should be desperate to let him leave.

He isn't going to have a future at Swansea under Potter anytime soon, and it's best for both parties if he does indeed leave in the summer.

He's likely to be on high wages, so getting him off their wage bill could really help the club out next season.
