Stoke City striker Saido Berahino is wanted by two Dutch clubs in this transfer window, according to a report by The Daily Mail.

Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven are ready to end Berahino's Stoke nightmare by offering him an escape route to the Netherlands.

The former England under-21 international's stock has gone down a long way since his move from West Bromwich Albion to Stoke City.

Berahino has failed to hit a single goal in his one-and-a-half year stay with Stoke and his goal drought stretches back to February 2016 when he was with the Baggies.

Once rated as one of the country's hottest prospects, the forgotten forward could be sold by Stoke this summer after Benik Afobe arrived from Wolves on a loan with an obligation to buy.

Despite his lack of goals, Dutch duo Feyenoord and PSV are keen on Berahino.

PSV won the Eredivisie last season and are preparing for a Champions League campaign while Feyenoord came fourth, meaning they get a spot in the Europa League qualifying stages.

Berahino fell out of favour under Paul Lambert last season and his last game for the Potters was on the 1st April.

Whether the 24-year-old has a future under Gary Rowett is unclear amid interest from Holland.

The Verdict

A move abroad could be just what Berahino needs to rediscover his touch.

The striker is clearly completely shot of confidence and he looks a shadow of the player he once was, when he was feared by Premier League defenders and tipped for an England breakthrough.

Since then, it has all spiralled downwards for Berahino and either staying in the Championship to prove himself there or moving abroad could be the break he needs.
