Stoke City defender Moritz Bauer is wanted by a host of European clubs ahead of the summer, according to reports from Tuttomercato via the Stoke Sentinel.
The 27-year old has endured a turbulent time at the bet365 Stadium since signing from Rubin Kazan in 2018, failing to nail down a regular place in the Potters’ starting line-up.
The energetic right-back made just five appearances under Gary Rowett in the first-half of the campaign, and despite playing four times for Nathan Jones upon his arrival from Luton Town, he quickly fell out of favour again.
Having been limited to just 12 appearances in all competitions this term, the Austrian could well be set to depart the Staffordshire club in the summer, with a host of European sides tracking his signature.
Nathan Jones will be looking to rebuild his squad in the summer, as he looks to improve on his side’s 16th placed finish in the 2018/19 campaign.
Whether it be on a loan deal or on a permanent basis, I think Bauer needs to leave Stoke in the summer.
He is clearly a very talented player. but he isn’t likely to break into the Stoke team anytime soon, as Nathan Jones looks to reshape his squad in the summer.
At 27 years of age, he needs to be playing regularly, and I don’t think Stoke can offer him that.
