Turkish side Besiktas are looking to secure the loan signing of West Bromich Albion utility man Nacer Chadli in this summer’s transfer window.

According to the Turkish news outlet Hurriyet, the Super Lig side are closing in on a deal to sign the 28-year-old on loan, with the option to buy permanently in the future.

Chadli was a key member of Belgium’s World Cup squad that finished third overall in Russia this summer.

The midfielder still has three years left on his contract at the Hawthorns, which would make the permanent transfer an expensive one for Besiktas.

The former Spurs man only made five appearances for West Brom last season, finding the net on one occasion, in a campaign that saw the Baggies finish bottom of the Premier League table.

The report claims that there is a €200K difference between how much Besiktas are looking to spend on the Belgian, and how much West Brom are looking to receive for the transfer.

The Verdict

Whilst Darren Moore has bought in a number of new players this summer, the majority are goalkeepers and defenders, making the sale of Nacer Chadli a risky one.

With James McClean out the picture and Rondon’s future up in the air, the front line and midfield of West Brom is starting to look a little lacklustre.

After an impressive World Cup, which saw Chadli feature more times than he did in the entire Premier League season, it would be strange time for the Baggies to let the Belgian go out on loan.
