It's safe to say that Ben White has certainly made a positive impact with Leeds United, after signing on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion during the summer of 2019.

The defender has made 40 appearances this season for Marcelo Bielsa's side, as they close in on a long-awaited promotion into the Premier League.

It appears as though White's impressive showings haven't gone unnoticed though, with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United previously being interested in landing his signature.

Speaking in an interview with MOT Leeds News, former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson labelled the potential permanent signing of White as essential, and that the club need to do everything they can to sign him permanently.

"The obvious two for me would be Jack Harrison and Ben White.

"White would be an absolutely essential signing for me and Leeds should do whatever it takes to make that happen."

Robinson went on to highlight White's versatility in the Leeds squad, whilst also claiming that Jack Harrison is another player that they should try and sign permanently in the summer.

"Leeds should pay whatever’s needed to secure his services because he’s been a vital player this season, not just at centre-back, but also in the holding midfield role when Kalvin Phillips has been out. It’s a huge option for Bielsa to have.

"If there was a chance of signing White that would be a must for me. And Jack Harrison, the way he’s come through the team this season, he’d be another must."

The Verdict:

I have to agree with Robinson here.

White has hardly put a foot wrong in his time with Leeds United this season, and without him, I have my doubts as to whether they would be in pole position to win promotion into the Premier League.

He's had a real impact on the pitch, and is definitely worth trying to sign on a permanent deal. He's a versatile option to have in the squad as well, which make hims a player with an exciting future ahead of him.

I'm sure I speak for the majority of the Elland Road faithful in saying that they'll want White to stay with the club on a permanent basis.
