Former Nottingham Forest defender Eric Lichaj has provided a two-word reaction to a clip of the screamer he scored for the Reds against Arsenal in January 2018.

The 31-year-old spent five years at the City Ground and made nearly 200 appearances for the East Midlands club.

The full-back managed six goals for Forest in that time and surely his most famous was the volley he scored from the edge of the box against the Gunners in January 2018.

The Reds hosted Arsenal at the City Ground in the FA Cup third round and Lichaj played a huge role in helping them to inflict an upset.

The United States international headed in an opener for Forest in the 20th minute and then smashed home a sensational volley to give them the lead again on the verge of half time.

Forest posted a clip of the volley on Twitter yesterday.

The 31-year-old was quick to provide a response – sending a two-word message to his former club and their fans on Twitter.

Lichaj moved to Hull at the end of the 2017/18 season but that goal and the result it helped to inspire will live long in the memory of many Forest fans.

The Verdict

What a quality strike from Lichaj. The way he takes the ball down on his chest and sends a dipping volley into the Arsenal net is sumptuous and suggests his talents are wasted at full-back.

The 31-year-old was a fantastic servant to Forest in the second half of the last decade and it appears he still has a fantastic relationship with the club and the fans.

You feel the timing of the goal, coming just before half time and 21 minutes after Arsenal's equaliser, was vital to Forest's victory.
