Birmingham City striker Lukas Jutkiewicz scored a late equaliser against Charlton Athletic last night and many Blues fans have been waxing lyrical about the towering forward.

The result leaves Birmingham five points and three places clear of the relegation zone with two games left of the season – a cushion that will likely be enough to ensure they remain in the Championship.

Macauley Bonne put the visitors ahead 13 minutes into the second half at St Andrew's, with Dillon Phillips having denied Scott Hogan from the penalty spot before the break.

Bonne had a chance to put the Addicks two ahead with 15 minutes left of normal time but was unable to find the net.

That mistake would prove costly as Jutkiewicz popped up in the 3rd minute of added time to tap in an equaliser after Phillips had parried Jude Bellingham's low shot.

The towering striker's late contribution meant the points were shared at St Andrew's and gives the Blues some breathing room in the relegation fight.

Jutkiewicz has now scored 13 goals and added four assists this term – by far the most goal contributions of any Birmingham player.
