Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish has the ideal chance to impress this afternoon as the Villans take on Blackburn Rovers.

Dean Smith's side will be looking for yet another win as they look to cement a grip on sixth place in the Championship, and there is even more incentive for the club and their key midfielder Grealish, with John Percy reporting that England manager Gareth Southgate is in the stands today casting an eye on proceedings.

Of course, there will be more to Southgate's visit than just watching Grealish, but it has to be one of the main reasons behind Southgate's visit, with the inclusion of Grealish in the England squad something which has been of plenty of talk of late.

The England manager chose not to select Grealish for the Three Lions' recent wins over the Czech Republic and then Montenegro, with many fans calling for the Aston Villa man to be given some thought.

However, Southgate has since commented on his decision around Grealish, despite selecting Derby loanee Mason Mount in his squad earlier in the campaign.

Grealish has been in fine form of late for Villa as they have made a late surge for the promotion places, and he will no doubt be hoping to put on quite the show for the England manager today if he can.

The Verdict

It's about time really, and the comments around playing in the Premier League are not really doing it for me from Southgate.

Grealish has been brilliant, and there's no reason he can't do it on the big stage.

It's good of Southgate to make his presence known today, and hopefully Grealish can do himself, the club, and the Championship proud.
