Bristol City are set to sign Liverpool winger Ryan Kent on loan until the end of the season, according to the Sun.

Former Coventry loanee Kent spent the first half of the season in Reds manager Jurgen Klopp's native Germany with Freiburg but only made six appearances for the club before returning to Anfield earlier this week.

Klopp is not happy about Kent's lack of game time while he was in the Bundesliga and for that reason, he has decided to put penalty clauses in the impending loan deal with the Robins which means that they have to pay out a hefty amount if they do not play him enough.

Kent should be in through the door at Ashton Gate in time to face Manchester City in the second leg of the EFL Cup semi-final on 23rd January.

The Verdict

Kent should add impetus to the Robins' promotion push and can play on either flank.

It is a sign of the modern game that Lee Johnson will have financial considerations on his mind when deciding whether to play Kent - and that could create its own problems in the dressing room that has been so united this season.
