Derby County are expecting to have Jayden Bogle and Krystian Bielik available when they take on Charlton at The Valley this weekend.

The key pair have both picked up knocks in the past few weeks, with Bogle withdrawing from the England U20 squad because of an ankle complaint.

Meanwhile, summer signing Bielik was forced to miss Poland's recent Euro 2020 qualifiers after suffering from a thigh issue.

Therefore, there was a lot of concern that the duo would fail to make the trip to the capital this weekend, however reporter Steve Nicholson gave a positive update on their situation earlier today.

"Derby, I understand, are hopeful that neither injury is serious and that both players could be available for the Charlton game."

Bogle, an academy graduate, has already missed six games in the Championship through injuries, with the Rams unbeaten when the right-back has played, including the last three games.

As for the versatile Bielik, he is increasingly important with Richard Keogh a long-term absentee and Tom Huddlestone also on the sidelines for upcoming games with a hamstring injury.

The verdict

This is very good news for Derby and Phillip Cocu as the Dutchman doesn't have the biggest squad to choose from right now and the two youngsters are vital to this team.

Of course, there's no point risking the players if they aren't 100% this weekend but the fact neither have long-term problems is very good for the club.

So, it's about assessing them in the coming days and it will be interesting to see who is in the XI on Saturday in what is a tough game for Derby.
