David Moyes is looking forward to having Grady Diangana back at West Ham United ahead of next season, after spending this season away from the London Stadium.

Diangana has spent this season on loan with West Bromwich Albion, and he played an influential role in helping the Baggies secure a return to the Premier League after a two-year absence.

The 22-year-old scored eight goals and registered seven assists in 30 Championship appearances in 2019/20, scoring in the 2-2 draw against QPR which was the game that saw them win promotion.

Diangana is now said to be a man in demand. West Brom are reportedly keen to sign the winger on a permanent basis, whilst Celtic, Ajax, Everton and Newcastle have also been credited with an interest.

With another five years left on his deal at the London Stadium, it remains to be seen whether Diangana returns to West Ham and becomes a key part of David Moyes' first-team plans.

Speaking on Diangana's future, though, Moyes, via the Romford Recorder, said: "I’m really pleased for him because to be successful and win in the Championship, as we all know the Championship is a real tough league, so to play the game and be a winner in football, I’m pleased for him.

“It will give him the confidence of being in a winning side, scoring, and playing well so I’m looking forward to getting him back.

"I think he had his best part of last season in the first half up until lockdown as he picked up a hamstring injury.

“We congratulate him on his success.”

The Verdict

It looks as if Diangana is going to be part of Moyes' plans, and who can blame him.

Diangana has thrived out on loan at West Brom this season, and he will now have experience of playing in a successful team week in, week out.

He is a very tricky player who could offer West Ham some real threat going forward next season, and it's a no-brainer to use him, in my view.
