West Brom have just started to click by the looks of things as they go in search of an immediate return to the Premier League.

The Baggies received a bit of a wake-up call on the opening day as Bolton Wanderers beat them 2-1 whilst their performance at Nottingham Forest - for 60 or so minutes - could have led them to loss number two.

However, as Dwight Gayle came on things gradually changed for the Baggies at the City Ground and, after a 4-3 win over Norwich City, we come to our first FLW Chemistry piece.

It's here we take a look at certain partnerships at clubs across the EFL and with Gayle's introduction and emerging relationship with Jay Rodriguez in mind, we start with them:

The early signs are very good.

Gayle has injected some raw pace on the shoulder of defenders and is able to stretch and make space for the technically gifted Rodriguez.

Against Norwich - the first time they both started together - Rodriguez looked a Premier League player - not the one that seemed out of ideas against Bolton.

Their games appear to complement each other well, then, and in both West Brom have players that should score a hatful this season.

Things, of course, could go the other way where the pair end up not being able to hit it off but you can usually tell early on when a striking duo is going to cause havoc.

Promotion, then, looks well in the reach of the Baggies with these two leading the line - so expect their percentage to only increase as the campaign continues...
