West Brom could be about to suffer a huge injury blow as England Under 21 star Harvey Barnes has withdrawn from the squad with a foot injury, as reported by the Express and Star.

The 20-year old is on loan at the Hawthorns from Leicester City and bagged a goal in the recent 4-1 destruction of Leeds United, a result which arrested a mini-slump for Darren Moore's side.

He's scored six in 19 outings for the Baggies, but his contribution has been far wider than goals, with a series of exciting appearances and assists contributing to their push for promotion back to the Premier League.

He's currently with the England squad for friendlies with Italy and Denmark as they prepare for the European Championships this summer, but he'll now play no part in the matches.

Darren Moore will be hoping it is a minor knock which doesn't rule him out of Championship action. After the international break, West Brom face games against Ipswich and Swansea, both away, as they look to knock Norwich off the summit.

The Verdict

It could be a minor knock, or it could be worse. Even if he misses a couple of games, the knock on effect could be huge for the Baggies and they'll be looking at the situation very closely indeed.

Barnes has been sensational for them and is surely set to be a big star of the future, both for Leicester City and England.
