Ipswich Town supporters have had their fair share of signings that have gone on to play a significant role for the Tractor Boys in their time with the club.

But with this, there have also been a number of signings that have proved to be abysmal business by the club, and we're going to look back at one of those in today's FLW Rewind.

On deadline day in January 2018, the club announced that they had signed Mustapha Carayol on a free transfer from Nottingham Forest.

See how supporters reacted to his signing on the day.

So it's safe to say that Carayol didn't look best pleased with the move to East Anglia, and he didn't make much of an impact on the pitch for Ipswich last season.

The winger made just eight appearances for the Tractor Boys and scored just one goal in a 1-0 win over Preston a month after singing for the club.

But with his contract only being a short-term one, the club decided not to renew his deal, and he left Ipswich on the expiration of his contract.

The Gambian international is now plying his trade over in Cyprus playing for Apollon Limassol, where he has netted twice in his eight appearances.

So Carayol certainly didn't endure a very good spell with Ipswich at all, and both Carayol and Ipswich supporters will be hoping to put this signing behind them and forget about it at the earliest of opportunities.
