Plenty of Queens Park Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react to their club's exit from the Carabao Cup.

The Hoops were aiming to secure back-to-back victories for the first time this season in their clash with Portsmouth but instead delivered a tepid performance at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Following an even first-half, the R's spurned a great opportunity to take the lead as Marc Pugh failed to convert from eight yards out following neat work from Ryan Manning.

Despite manager Mark Warburton opting to bring on Nahki Wells and Ebere Eze with 30 minutes left to play, it was Pompey who began to assert themselves in the closing stages of the game.

After Christian Burgess went close for the visitors, John Marquis was brought down in the box by defender Toni Leistner and duly converted his spot-kick to break the deadlock.

Pompey then doubled their advantage through Marcus Harness who slotted past Hoops goalkeeper Liam Kelly.

A miserable night for the R's was compounded when Eze's stoppage-time goal was disallowed for offside following a consultation between the match officials.
