Birmingham City are set to lose top scorer Che Adams as the striker closes in on a move to Premier League Southampton for a fee believed to be in the region of £16m.

That's according to the Daily Mail, who claimed that the 22-year-old has said goodbye to his teammates and the Blues staff as he prepares to travel down to the south coast.

The former Sheffield United man will feel he is ready to make the step up after a remarkable individual campaign last time out that saw him score 22 times in the league.

Therefore, he will obviously be very hard for Blues to replace - even with the significant fee he has brought in.

Despite that, many fans feel in the current market that the club should have been able to demand more, particularly as Adams is only 22-years-old and should have his best years ahead of him.
