With the January transfer window just around the corner, Paris Saint-Germain have joined the chase to sign highly-rated West Bromwich Albion youngster Jovan Malcolm.

That's according to Football Insider, who claim that the French giants have joined Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal in the chase to sign the wonderkid, after watching him in action for the Baggies' youth teams.

Malcolm, who turned 17 earlier this month, is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in the country and has been in fantastic scoring form for West Brom's Under-18s so far this term.

His impressive performances have attracted attention from a number of top clubs and the fact that he's yet to sign a professional contract at West Brom means a club would be able to sign him for a cut-price compensation figure.

West Brom have produced some very talented young players over the past few years and have already seen the likes of Morgan Rogers and Louie Barry - two of the most highly-rated prospects in the country - depart the club within the last year.

The Verdict

Malcolm is widely regarded as one of the most exciting and talented young players in the country and he's been in great form for West Brom's Under-18s so far this season.

He's clearly got a lot of potential and could have a very big future ahead of him in football. There's every chance that he could be tempted to join a top club like PSG or Liverpool, which would be very frustrating for West Brom fans.

The Baggies saw Louie Barry leave the club to join Barcelona earlier this year and I'm sure they'd be very disappointed if another one of their young talents was to leave for a minimal compensation fee.
