Under-fire Bolton Wanderers have been handed a reprieve in their battle to avoid administration, as reported by the Bolton News' live blog at 10.37 am this morning.

The Trotters have been threatened with a possible stint in administration and the 12-point deduction it brings, but they have now been offered a lifeline. The latest report is quoted as saying; 'A last-minute offer was made and provisionally accepted on provision the funds are moved into the right areas.'

That means that creditors BluMarble have accepted a revised deal from chairman Ken Anderson. They had previously rejected a staged payment of an outstanding £4m loan, which brought the threat of administration to the fore.

Anderson now has until noon today to fulfil the fresh off offer he made to BluMarble , with funds needed to be moved into 'right areas' quickly. As things stand, the club will not face administration, nor the points deduction.

It seems terms have now been agreed and the necessary legal work is being undertaken, with the story likely to develop further in the coming hours.

The Verdict

This seems like an eleventh-hour reprieve for the club after a frightening morning of developments.

If the reports are accurate then Phil Parkinson's good work will not be undone and the club can take tentative steps forward once more. It will be news that is well received around Bolton this lunchtime.
