With the general election fast approaching... Football League World is going to connect the dots and pick out our choices for which club in the Sky Bet Championship can be compared to a political party.

If political parties were Championship clubs....

Conservatives - Reading

Reading FC have all the right aspirations and all the prim and proper folk but you just can't seem to trust what's going on behind closed doors.

The club has all the right structure to become a leading side with powerful aspirations but when it comes down to it they leave fans empty handed and scratching their head.

Although Steve Clarke is no David Cameron, the comparison could be made to the staff below the boss.

Some fiercely loyal and the rest sneaky and only in it for the payday. Most Reading fans will be looking at this and straight away changing their vote because the stories are aligned. The club has promised fans way more than it can give out and it's the normal people who are now suffering and the big wigs are having a ball!

The Royals is a perfectly suitable name too, as it's only affiliation to the club is its nickname for the Conservatives this shows what the men in power believe they truly are, Royalty.

Labour - Leeds United

Not only because Yorkshire is predominantly Labour already, the comparison towards Leeds United is evidently clear.

No matter how much you listen to the leader Massimo Cellino, you just feel like he's spinning you a million lies.

Cellino is a carbon copy of Ed Milliband, both like a pint and a natter and both do have the right intentions but lack the proper willingness to provide for their people. But don't worry they're both proper 'ard.

The other comparison between Labour and Leeds is the financial mess that both have been in over the years.

Labour's overspending in government is still blamed for the market crash, whereas Leeds United have been in an unstable financial situation since Peter Ridsdale 'lived the dream' on the fans expense and drove us into the ground, and relegation.

If you sat Cellino and Miliband in a room together and heard them out, most people would go; "yeah... I mean, I get what they're saying but can I truly trust them?! Are they going to come through on these promises or do I just feel sorry for them".

Liberal Democrats - Derby County

Poor Lib Dem, they got so close and it just fell apart at the last second, sound familiar? In the last five years while the Lib Dem's have suffered in somewhat power, Derby have struggled to keep any power when coming down to crunch time.

Both Derby and the Liberal Democrats have a strong history, one has run the country in football and the other's wore orange and tried really hard over the years.

Derby's season ended up being a horror show after dropping out of the play-off places on the last day and losing all hope, but at least they didn't give up all their beliefs on the first day! It also turns out that both their demises came to our club/party Reading who destroyed Derby on the last day, while the Conservative party just put the Lib Dem's in the naughty corner.

Steve McLaren and Nick Clegg are also quite similar. When you look at them both you think; "well yeah his heart is in the right place, but is he really the man to bring us forward. And he did a bad job with England!"

UKIP- Wigan Athletic

A party that promises everything, but will only deliver a kick in the teeth and a racist leader, sound familiar?

Former Chairman Dave Whelan was known for his bouts of verbal diarrhoea and at most times it was racist and misinformed, which in Nigel Farage's world is perfect dialect.

Both have a common enemy in the world, true facts. Farage is know to fiddle with the truth just as much as his expenses and Leeds United fans will never forgive Whelan for his terrible joke about Leeds not winning a trophy in 25 years at his going away party, it's 22 years Dave and it was the league.

Apart from both of the leaders, it's the similarities between the club and parties structure. Built from strong, hard working and regular people and then poisoned by racists and big wigs.

Wigan fans were promised their allegiance would be rewarded if they stick by them and it has been given in relegation.

As you can imagine, most of the people at Wigan will jump ship now and that's what I believe will happen if UKIP fail in this election.

Green Party - Bolton Wanderers

You know they are about but you couldn't name more than five people involved in either of these two.

Much like the Greens, Bolton are the forgotten side when it comes to the big time. They languish at the bottom and their fans swap allegiances to a side that could have a chance of winning something.

Although not as integral now, the Greens used to stand for recycling and re-using things that still have life in them, Heskey and Gudjohnsen anyone?

Now more of a party that wants to give you a fresh start and build from the ground up, the Greens want to show they the smaller parties can hold their own in politics.

Whereas Bolton are proving that financial difficulties can be put aside and fresh starts can happen. With Neil Lennon being their spark to safety.
