Ismaila Sarr is set to be staying at Watford past the end of the transfer deadline at 5pm today with one of the sagas of this market finally appearing to be reaching a conclusion.

The winger was linked heavily with a move to the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Crystal Palace during the market with speculation rife that one of the Premier League trio would manage to seal a deal for big money.

Watford were always going to hold out for a large fee, then, and it looks as though that has managed to keep suitors at bay with Adam Leventhal confirming the latest with Sarr:

The Verdict

A top player and one with lots of talent, we'll surely see him back in the Premier League one day but that will not be between now and January at the very least by the looks of things.

Of course, Watford will be looking to use him in their promotion challenge this season and their hopes have surely been boosted by this news.

He'll need to get right up to speed after a window of speculation but there's a chance he'll be involved tonight against Derby and he'll be looking to show what he can do.

Certainly, it's good news for the Hornets.
