Bristol City have made an excellent start to the summer transfer window, welcoming Kal Naismith and Mark Sykes to Ashton Gate prior to today's official opening.

The Robins, who finished in 17th place last time out, will be eager to kick on and improve on last season, with their early business suggesting that could be a genuine possibility.

Another player that Nigel Pearson's side have been linked with is Forest Green Rovers right-wing-back Kane Wilson, with the League Two Player of the Season also generating interest from the likes of Watford and Nottingham Forest.

The latest update from Bristol Live is that the 22-year-old has agreed personal terms at Ashton Gate, with the deal to be confirmed and made public over the next 48 hours.

Scoring three goals and providing a further 13 assists, the talented wing-back has proven to be a real attacking threat.

The verdict

Bristol City have started the summer excellently, and if they are able to complete this deal for Wilson without any complications, then it will just get even better.

The wing-back possesses lots of desirable traits that make him ready for the rigours of Championship football, whilst there is scope for him to continue improving.

Still just 22 years of age, and set to arrive on a free transfer, if Wilson can hit the ground running with the Robins, then he will generate a huge resale value.

The sky is the limit for Wilson, and whilst he may take a little time to adapt to playing his football two divisions higher, his incredibly high ceiling makes this move an exciting one.
