EFL side manoeuvre themselves into pole position to seal Manchester City transfer

Swansea City are in pole position to sign Manchester City defender, Joel Latibeaudiere, despite the interest from Reading FC.
It appears that Latibeaudiere will be departing the Etihad Stadium ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
Both Swansea and Reading hold an interest in signing the England youth international, but the Welsh side have recently moved into pole position to get the deal done for the centre-back.
Quiz: Do Cardiff City and Swansea City have these 10 things in common?
As per the Telegraph’s Mike McGrath, talks have progressed nicely between Swansea and Man City, which has moved Steve Cooper’s side ahead of Reading in the race to sign the 20-year-old.

Both Swansea and Reading have been amongst the Championship’s fast starters in 2020/21.
The Royals have a 100% record after four fixtures, matching Bristol City. For Swansea, they sit narrowly behind the top-two, having picked up 10 points from a possible 12.
Cooper’s side are looking to build on last season’s top-six finish by launching a sustained push for the automatic promotion spots.
The Verdict
This looks like it will be a good move for Swansea and Latibeaudiere.
Steve Cooper has placed heavy focus on recruiting young players. Rhian Brewster and Conor Gallagher drove his side last season and it’s clear to see why he wants the 20-year-old City centre-back through the door.
He’s progressive with his play and is a young talent for Cooper to develop over the season.
It’s a perfect fit and you feel that if Swansea get this done ahead of Reading, it will be a boost to their promotion hopes.
