EFL Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted Birmingham City will hold Luton Town to a 1-1 draw when they travel to Kenilworth Road this evening.

The Blues announced the exciting signing of former Barcelona and AC Milan midfielder Alen Halilovic yesterday but tonight's game looks to be too soon for the Croatian to make his debut.

Both sides have similar recent records, having picked up just one win in their last four and drawn their first game after the international break.

In his predictions for Sky Sports, Prutton has suggested that there will be nothing to split the two sides at Kenilworth Road and indicated the game will finish as a 1-1 draw.

That result is likely to mean that the Hatters drop back further from the top six, while Birmingham could see the gap narrowed between them and the relegation zone.

The hosts will be without striker Danny Hylton for the visit of the Blues but midfielder Dan Potts could make his first appearance of the season.

Zack Jeacock and Adam Clayton will be unavailable for Aitor Karanka's side, with both hampered by ankle issues.

The Verdict

Both sides could do with a win to get things going after the international break but it is very difficult to pick between the two teams.

Luton have started better than their opponents this term, sitting four points and seven places higher than them in the table, but it's hard to ignore some of the quality that Karanka has available to him.

It looks set to be a game of very tight margins and one that could be decided by a moment of brilliance or a mistake.
