Cardiff City go in search of their first Championship home victory of the campaign when they host ever-improving Barnsley on Tuesday evening.
Neil Harris’ men don’t appear to have recovered from the disappointment of missing out on promotion to the Premier League last season – winning just twice in their opening nine league matches.
They produced an excellent comeback from two-goals down at QPR on Saturday, but lost out to a stoppage-time stunner from Dominic Ball to leave them sitting 17th in the Championship table.
Meanwhile, Barnsley are on a fantastic run and Valerien Ismael takes his men to the Welsh capital looking to maintain his 100 perfect record since becoming Tykes boss last month.
The South Yorkshire outfit followed up their thrashing over QPR last Tuesday with another home win – this time a 1-0 success against promotion-chasing Watford to move four points clear of danger.
But Sky Sports pundit David Prutton think will be the outcome? He has predicted a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw in South Wales.
He told Sky Sports: “The Bluebirds ended a run of three successive 1-1 draws with that last-gasp defeat against QPR and boss Neil Harris admitted that he’d “never been so angry after a game”. His side need to start converting those draws into wins if they want to challenge at the top of the division.
“What a start it’s been for new Barnsley boss Valerien Ismael! Things were starting to move in the right direction prior to the Frenchman’s arrival, but they’ve taken seven points from three games since his arrival and look impressive, particularly with Saturday’s win over Watford. Score draw, for me.”
