David Prutton is expecting Leeds United to halt Aston Villa’s winning streak when the pair meet in the Sky Bet Championship this evening, reports Sky Sports.

Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has predicted Leeds and Villa to play out a 1-1 draw in this evening’s eagerly anticipated clash at Elland Road, with the in-form Albert Adomah scoring the game’s opening goal.

Adomah has been key to Aston Villa’s recent run of form in the Championship, with the 29-year-old bagging five goals in his last three appearances, helping Bruce’s side to three consecutive victories following the international break earlier this month.

Villa have swept aside Queens Park Rangers, Sunderland and Ipswich Town in their last three fixtures, moving to fourth in the Championship table.

Victory at Elland Road would see Bruce’s side move above Sheffield United in the table, ahead of their clash with Millwall tomorrow.

However, Villa come up against a Leeds side looking to keep their play-off hopes alive, having moved to eighth in the table following two victories in their last three.

Victories over Middlesbrough and Barnsley have come either side of a 4-1 hammering to Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Thomas Christiansen's side entering this evening’s contest three points adrift of the top-six.

The Verdict

Tonight’s clash at Elland Road is set to be a cagey affair between two sides who have promotion ambitions.

Villa are well in the hunt at the moment, whilst Leeds are battling to get their way back into contention following a huge dip in form.

The first goal will be so important in tonight’s fixture, as not much will separate the two sides.

Villa have been impressive recently, but Leeds could just spring a surprise.
