David Prutton is expecting two of the Sky Bet Championship’s form sides to share the points this afternoon, with Bristol City and Cardiff City playing out a score draw in the Severnside derby, reports Sky Sports.

Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has predicted a 1-1 from Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off at Ashton Gate, which will mean Cardiff lose further ground on current leaders, Wolverhampton Wanderers, who strolled to a victory against Fulham at Molineux last night to move four points clear.

Neil Warnock’s side enter the contest on the back of an impressive Championship victory, after the Bluebirds made short work of Ipswich Town during the week. Goals from Junior Hoilett, Omar Bogle and Danny Ward secured a 3-1 victory for Cardiff, who moved back into the automatic promotion places.

Whilst Cardiff are looking to narrow the gap to Wolves, Bristol City are looking to fight their way into automatic promotion contention, with Lee Johnson’s side entering Saturday’s contest in fourth, just four points behind Cardiff.

The Robins have picked up back-to-back victories in the last week away from Ashton Gate, triumphing at Sunderland and Fulham.

The Verdict

This is an exciting clash in the Championship, with two of 2017’s standout performers going head-to-head.

Cardiff will not want to enter the international break four points behind Wolves, whilst Bristol City will be desperate to give themselves a chance of working their way into contention for automatic promotion.

It will be tight at Ashton Gate, and a goal either way could settle the contest.
