David Prutton is expecting Wolverhampton Wanderers to maintain their impressive lead at the top of the Sky Bet Championship table this weekend when they entertain struggling Bolton Wanderers, reports Sky Sports.
Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has predicted a comfortable 2-0 win for Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves, ending Bolton’s recent run that has given them hope in their battle against relegation.
Wolves opened up a four-point lead at the summit of the Championship table on Wednesday evening, handing a sorry Leeds United side a 4-1 defeat at Molineux, with Nuno’s attacking players finding their best.
That result was Wolves’ fourth straight victory in the Championship – A run that has firmly established the Molineux club as automatic promotion favourites.
Whilst Wolves are battling to get out of the Championship, Bolton are battling to stay in it, with Phil Parkinson’s side currently occupying a place in the bottom three.
The Trotters are unbeaten in their last seven Championship fixtures, but will be hugely disappointed after missing a perfect chance to move out of the relegation zone on Tuesday evening.
Parkinson’s side found themselves 2-0 up against Reading at the Macron Stadium, only to concede two late goals to draw 2-2 and remain adrift of 22nd placed, Birmingham City.
Wolves were hugely impressive against Leeds on Wednesday, blowing a team with play-off ambitions away.
Prutton mentions it is hard to look past a routine home victory, which is difficult to disagree with, as a team with Wolves’ quality should blow Bolton away.
Another chance for Nuno’s side to make a statement.
