Wolves face a challenging trip to a resurgent Reading tomorrow where they will hope to continue their fine form that has seen them rise to the top of the league.
Given the way the fixtures have fallen, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men could be in second position by the time of kick-off at the Madejski Stadium with Sheffield United facing Burton tonight.
However, Sky Sports EFL pundit David Prutton has little doubt that the Black Country side will be top of the pile by Saturday evening, predicting a 2-0 win for Wanderers against Jaap Stam’s men in his regular online column.
Wolves really have been imperious this season, with the likes of Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Leo Bonatini easily adapting to life in the Championship.
The visitors will inevitably go into the match as favourites because of that excellent form but Reading have shown signs of promise in their last two games.
They may still be 18th in the league but comprehensive victories against Nottingham Forest and Derby have lifted the mood around the club as they look to challenge for the top six.
It’s easy to see why Prutton has gone for a Wolves win as they have been a cut above most all season and you have to say that appears the most likely result.
Yet, Reading will make it tough, as Santo will know. Back-to-back wins in their previous two games will have seriously increased confidence ahead of this stern test, whilst the return of Yann Kermogant could be vital.
Tomorrow will be a good chance for the Royals to see if they how much they have improved as they look to stop Wolves’ fine run.
