Leeds United travel to Middlesbrough tonight knowing they need to win to keep their outside chances of making the top six alive.

After a crucial win for the Whites against Brentford last week, Paul Heckingbottom's first as manager, they are now six points away from the play-offs.

And, tonight they will come up against another side desperate for a win, with Boro just three behind sixth-placed Sheffield United.

Therefore, tonight is pivotal for both sides and it should be a cracking encounter.

Whilst Boro will start as favourites given the home advantage, EFL pundit David Prutton is backing the visitors to come away with three points.

The former Leeds midfielder went for a 2-1 win in his regular Sky Sports column, backing powerful German striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga to score first too.

Prutton believes that the late equaliser Boro conceded against bottom of the league Sunderland last week will have had a negative impact on the hosts, whereas Leeds will be confident following their win over the Bees.

The game is scheduled to kick-off at 7:45pm tonight but may be under threat due to the weather that has hit the UK.

The Verdict

This is going to be a very tight game, although it's slightly surprising that Prutton thinks Leeds can come away with a win.

Boro have won their last two at home and Tony Pulis will know they have to keep that run going if they are to stand any chance of promotion.

It's a massive game for both clubs tonight that could seriously define their season.
