Norwich City can move one step closer to promotion as they take on Derby County this weekend.

The Canaries are flying high in the Championship and find themselves eight points clear at the top of the table and 17 points clear of third place Brentford.

Should Daniel Farke's side win this weekend and Brentford and Swansea City drop points they could mathematically secure promotion - something that is sure to be a big motivation for the club.

As for Derby County there's still a lot to play for.

While it's been a good week for the club off the field with Erik Alonso's takeover moving closer to completion, there's still a lot of work to do on it.

The Rams are just eight points clear of the relegation zone with third-bottom side Rotherham United having four games in hand.

That means that Wayne Rooney's side need to get some points on the board quickly if they're to avoid being dragged into a very late battle to avoid the drop.

One man who always keeps a close eye on the Championship is David Prutton, and writing for Sky Sports, he's expecting Norwich City to come away with a 2-0 victory here.

The verdict

This is a huge match for both sets of teams.

Norwich City are hoping that a positive result can see them all-but secure promotion, while Derby County are in desperate need of points at the other end of the table.

It's bound to be a fascinating affair but it's hard to go against Prutton's prediction here.
