Sky Sports EFL expert David Prutton has issued his prediction on Middlesbrough's trip to QPR on Saturday – forecasting a 2-0 victory for Chris Wilder's side.

Both clubs are still searching for their first win after the Championship's opening weekend, though Boro will be the happier of the two following their hard-fought draw with West Bromwich Albion.

The R's were beaten 1-0 by Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park, with Lewis Travis' wonder-strike deciding a tight game in the North West.

A teething period was to be expected for the Loftus Road outfit following Mark Warburton's exit and Mick Beale's appointment earlier in the summer but supporters will still hope that a top six push is possible.

Beating a team with bona fide promotion credentials like Boro would be a massive confidence boost for the Hoops and mark Beale's first home game in style.

However, on the Sky Sports website, Prutton has predicted that the Teessiders will come away with all three points thanks to a 2-0 win.

The Verdict

It's hard to disagree with this one. Boro will feel they were unfortunate not to come away with all three points against West Brom last weekend and now could be a good time to head to Loftus Road.

The R's are still in the early stages of Beale's tenure and you do feel as though they've not yet been able to reach top gear.

Boro squandered chances last weekend but will hope that summer signing Marcus Forss, who is in line to make his debut, can help them convert on Saturday.

Creating opportunities was an issue for the hosts last weekend, managing an xG of just 0.13, and they take on a solid and well-drilled Boro unit.

The search for a first victory under Beale may go on a little longer.
