The FA Cup First Round is a fantastic opportunity for non-league players to showcase their talent and put themselves in the shop window for football league clubs to see.

For the clubs who have got to this stage, it is a great and memorable occasion, especially if they are drawn against a League One or a League Two side.

Non-league players dream of playing in the football league; perhaps they never quite got the break, maybe they are plying their trade at this level after playing higher before or maybe they are a promising up and coming player.

Whatever their level, the ultimate goal is to be a professional footballer and the FA Cup gives these players a chance to show they can compete when playing a higher-ranked team.

There were a number of fixtures on Sunday and plenty of non-league clubs in action with exceptional performances up and down the country.

Here are 3 players who would have put themselves on the radar of EFL clubs with their FA Cup performance.

Fabian Spiess

German goalkeeper Fabian Spiess is playing below himself for Alfreton in the sixth tier of English football.

The 22-year-old stopper was once on Manchester United's radar during his time at Notts County but has fallen from grace a bit with a spell at Torquay before joining Alfreton.

The German showed his class though with an array of fine saves to earn Alfreton a replay against League Two Newport.

Junior Morias

Junior Morias has found himself bumbling around the non-league at the moment but his brace for St Albans will certainly have put him on the radars of some EFL clubs.

The prolific goalscorer enjoys a successful strike partnership with Louie Theophanous (who also netted) and the strong, pacy Jamaican striker will be keen to add to return to the football league.

The 21-year-old used to play for Wycombe but age is still on his side and he could turn into a very handy little striker for a League One or League Two side.

Morgan Ferrier

Tranmere Rovers v Cambridge United - Sky Bet Football League Two

Morgan Ferrier provided a constant threat to League Two high-flyers Notts County as Boreham Wood earned a replay after a 2-2 draw.

The 21-year-old scored the opener in this fixture to add to his growing stock since joining Boreham Wood this summer.

The former Arsenal and Crystal Palace youth player had unsuccessful trials with Peterborough, Swindon and Stevenage in the summer but football league clubs might reconsider after seeing how much progress he has made this season.
