It is claimed that the League One club could sign the Blues youngster on a free transfer, with a potential sell-on clause being in place for the future.
It had previously been reported that Championship side Millwall were one of the teams interested in a deal to sign McCormick heading into the summer transfer window, but AFC Wimbledon appear to have moved ahead of them in the race to land his signature.
McCormick is yet to make a first-team appearance for Chelsea, and it doesn’t appear as though he’s going to do that anytime soon, with him being offered to AFC Wimbledon.
He’s out of contract at the end of the month, and it seems as though he’s heading for the Stamford Bridge exit door ahead of the 2021/22 season.
AFC Wimbledon finished 19th in the League One table last season, and will be keen to challenge higher up the third tier standings next term.

This could turn out to be a very smart move by AFC Wimbledon.
McCormick clearly has something about him if he’s been on the books at Chelsea early into his career, and he could prove to be a solid addition to the AFC Wimbledon team moving forwards.
Having attracted interest from Championship clubs in the past as well, it would be somewhat of a coup for the League One side to strike an agreement to land his signature this summer.
If he can fulfil his potential with AFC Wimbledon, then we could see them challenging higher up the League One table in future seasons, which will be pleasing to see for the club’s supporters.
